Rolls-Royce Dawn

The Spirit of Ecstasy has once again christened a new Rolls-Royce with its presence: The Rolls-Royce Dawn. We discussed briefly in our bespoke creations post that the Dawn was coming, and after much anticipation it has arrived.

But this isn’t the first Dawn to break the Rolls-Royce horizon. Back in the 1950s, Rolls-Royce released the Silver Dawn, a four door saloon-style vehicle with a top speed of 94 mph. It was the first Rolls-Royce car to be offered with a factory-made body, and only 760 of them were ever built.

Out of those 760, just 28 were the Silver Dawn Cabriolet. The Silver Dawn Cabriolet of the 1950’s is the type of collector vehicle people gather to see. Its legendary status was the inspiration for the new Rolls-Royce Dawn, but more than half a century of progress may have created a new legend.

The new Dawn delivers the same unmatched quality that Rolls-Royce is famous for but in a brand new convertible package. The exterior offers a fresh take on the classic Rolls-Royce appearance, and the interior invites you in with room to seat four passengers in comfortable luxury. For a convertible, this is more than a notable feature. Usually to fit the convertible roof inside the car, automakers have to sacrifice room in the rear seats or do away with them all together. In the Rolls-Royce Dawn, the convertible roof may as well be inexistent.

Luckily it’s not. After all, opulent craftsmanship and rainstorms do not mix. The convertible top is made from a thick, high-quality fabric that is most certainly not beluga whale skin. You can rest knowing that whatever fabric the artisans have equipped the Dawn’s roof in will hold up to the test of time. Rolls-Royce ensures that the Dawn is the world’s quietest convertible and attributes this fact to their reduced wind resistance and French-style exterior convertible stitching.

Weather permitting, the convertible design ensures that wherever you arrive in the Dawn, people are sure to notice. Imagine inhaling the fresh air as you push through the RPMs of Dawn’s V12 engine; Imagine feeling the suspension carry you through the roads. Imagine it, or come into the Rolls-Royce Motorcars of Raleigh dealership and get to know it. Our expert sales staff will give you the lowdown any of our models and maybe even put you behind the wheel.
